2 Game NHL Parlay – All 3 California Teams in Action
January 19, 2010
All three California teams take to the ice on Tuesday Night. One’s place is solid, one’s is tenuous and the other’s isn’t good at all.
San Jose Sharks –120
The San Jose Sharks are the bullies of the Western Conference. They are money in the regular season. The playoffs – that’s another story. The Sharks are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and beat Los Angeles a week ago. Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley, Patrick Marleau and the rest of the supporting cast is excellent and Evgeni Nabokov in net, the Sharks are an awfully hard team to bet against.
San Jose Sharks (32-10-8) at Los Angeles Kings (27-18-3)
When: 10:30 PM ET, Tuesday, January 19
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
- The Los Angeles Kings rank 8th on offense, and average 2.9 goals per game. The Kings are 19.0% on the power play and have 36 power play goals.
- The San Jose Sharks rank 4th on offense, averaging 3.1 goals per game. The Sharks are 20.4% on the power play and have 38 power play goals.
- The Kings average 3.1 goals per game at home, and give up 2.7 goals against on defense.
- The Sharks average 3.1 goals per game on the road, and give up 2.5 goals against on defense.
- San Jose is second in penalty killing in the league at 87.3%.
Los Angeles Kings – +100
Los Angeles holds onto the last playoff spot and haven’t been playing that well lately. They are 5-5 in their last 10 games and need to put the foot on the pedal or be left in the dust. They have won two straight games and they do play better at home, but it won’t be enough to overcome the bullies.

Buffalo Sabres – lines not available yet
Buffalo is 8-0-2 in their last 10 games. Yeah, they are on fire. Buffalo has ridden a relative bunch of no names and a Hot goaltender to the third best record in the NHL. Coming off a seven-goal performance last night, it smells light a let down game for the Sabres. They are due for a loss.
Anaheim Ducks – lines not available yet
Winners of six of their last seven games, the Ducks appear to be turning a corner. They have been without Teemu Selanne and seem to be improving as the season wears on. With Ryan Getzlaf, Corry Perry, and Scott Neidermayer, the Ducks have a pretty good team that has simply been underachieving. I think that the Ducks could be a tough task for the Sabres as they try to regain some respect in the NHL.
Pick: Anaheim Ducks
