Tennis Betting Verdict: Mikhail Youzhny is notoriously streaky yet he has managed to maintain some kind of steady form this season for significant stretches, enough so to improve his ranking to No.14 and pick up a title.

Tennis Betting Verdict: It will be the first encounter between Germans Tobias Kamke and Philipp Kohlschreiber when they collide in the first round of the US Open. Kohlschreiber naturally gets the favourite not at -700 to win outright. The 26-year-old German is a solid top 30 player. He could be ranked higher if he were more consistent. Nevertheless, Kohlschreiber is enjoying a good term playing to a 29-18 mark, which includes a semi-final finish at Auckland and several quarterfinal appearances – san Jose, Monte Carlo, Munich, Halle and Toronto. He’s had some success at the Challenger level but there is a wide gulf between that level and the pro Tour. Beating Kohlschreiber would be his single most impressive feat to date. Easier said than done.
