EPL Betting Tips Game Week 3 – Tottenham vs. Wigan

Just as I call out Tottenham for the less than desirable start to the EPL season and high wire act on the European stage last week, don’t they go and put on a show stopper at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night – their best performance to date – and make all my nay saying nothing but a load of nonsense.

Down a goal in the UEFA Champions League tie with Young Boys and a bit of a ways away from a spot in the Group stage, you could say the Spurs had their backs against the wall.

They were always going to be the favourites going into this tie but I’ll admit to some concern (and doubt) after the 3-2 loss in Switzerland, underscored by the fact that they slipped 3:0 in the first 28 minutes.

Thankfully, all that is in the past now as the Spurs come out smelling like roses, on the back of a 4:0 thumping that saw them take the tie 6-3 on aggregates and soar into Champions League group action.

Good news, Spurs fans can look forward to a Champions League season after all. But does this latest turnaround mean that the very same fans will be treated to an exciting EPL season?

The prognosis certainly wasn’t good after the first two rounds, just so-so. Seeing that Wigan is coming to town at the weekend – and we all know how atrocious they have been so far – this fixture may well be just what the doctor ordered for a speedy resurgence.

Soccer Betting Verdict – After the Spurs account in European action this week you have to believe they are money in the bank where this match is concerned.

It should come as no surprise they are the hotshot favourites at -425. They were always going to be favoured over Wigan in this clash but now these odds have some pizzazz behind them.

I don’t believe there is much thinking to be had where this fixture is concerned. By all accounts, a straightforward Tottenham win is expected.

The only question is how many goals will there be? And maybe whether Wigan will finally find the back of the net, any net really.

If Tottenham put on a similar show, the Over 3 -125 is going to be the hot bet. Consider that Wigan are winless in two matches, have conceded ten goals and scored zilch, zip, nada and you have a recipe for a Spurs scoring buffet.

Where Wigan is concerned, it seems the bookies are brokering another blank statement. Team totals are set at ½ with the Under favoured at -115. If that is not telling, then I don’t know what is.
