Nevada vs Boise State – NCAA Football Betting Steals

September 1, 2010

Every NCAA football betting fan is already looking forward to the biggest encounters of the season. Even though we are used to discussing the biggest names in the game to determine the National Championship, the clash between the Boise State Broncos and Nevada Wolfpack might not only decide the WAC and a spot in the BCS, but Boise State could be playing for a National Championship as well.

Boise State Broncos vs. Nevada Wolfpack

Game Date/Time: Friday, November 26th, 10:15 ET
Game Location: MacKay Stadium
TV/Radio Broadcast: ESPN2, ESPN3.com

Many NCAA football betting pundits are of the belief that the Broncos will still be undefeated at this point in the season if they can hop past Virginia Tech in their opener at FedEx Field. Even if they aren’t, this could be a BCS busting game for them.

The Broncos are just a fantastic club this year. They have a ton of returning starters on both sides of the ball. The only legitimate loss is Kyle Wilson, who was the first round draft pick for the New York Jets this year.

Kellen Moore does a fantastic job taking care of the pigskin, and he spreads the ball around to his bevy of receivers when necessary.

Boise State also has a defense that really cannot be topped by anyone else in the Mountain West, as it allowed just 300.2 yards and 17.1 points per game overall a year ago.

However, against its two toughest competitors in conference, Fresno State and Nevada, BSU was torched for a ton of points and oodles of yards.

Nevada got off to a woeful start last year and just flipped the switch after starting 0-3. From that point forward, the pedal was officially to the metal. The Wolfpack rolled off eight straight victories and challenged Boise State on the Smurf Turf, losing 44-33. They nearly fully eliminated a 20-0 lead for the Broncos in the regular season finale, which could have totally busted the BCS.

This is a running game that, when it gets going, is unstoppable. Though Luke Lippincott is now gone, the other two heads of the three headed monster that was Nevada’s ground attack still remain.

Colin Kaepernick is a dual threat quarterback. He threw for 2,052 yards and 20 TDs, and ran for 1,182 yards and 16 more scores as the leader of the Pistol offense. With this being Kaepernick’s senior season, hopes are high.

Vai Taua led the team in rushing with 1,345 yards last year, though. Expect to see him inch near the 2,000 yard mark if the Wolfpack want him to get there.

This is going to be a fantastic showdown in Reno. The fact that the oddsmakers originally opened up the Wolfpack as nine-point home underdogs is a bit of a joke. If you can catch anywhere near a touchdown with Nevada at home, you’re getting an NCAA football betting steal.
