Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins

8:00 pm ET

NFL odds: Miami favored at -2.

With the over/under set at 37, the NFL game odds in this one suggest a high-scoring game between two teams that have a lot of depth on offense.

Miami features a deep backfield full of runners with burst while Dallas has a deep receiving corps and a lot of untapped young talent from a scouting department with a huge budget and lots of talents for finding unknown, hidden gems such as Miles Austin and Tony Romo.

Both of those well known players are not likely to play much in this game but they could have an impact on the game in the time that they do play as preseason games like this tend to favor the offensive side of the ball and Romo, Austin, Jason Witten and co. could potentially have a big opening drive or two to give the Cowboys the edge in this one.

Miami has the big advantage in backup quarterbacks however and taking into account the NFL odds that could have a big bearing on this game. Chad Pennington could be the best backup quarterback in the league mentally at least and he’s performed well while Tyler Thigpen can put up big numbers with his athleticism and gunslinger mentality in this game as the third-stringer.

Put it all together and it seems like the ‘fins have more staying power in this game making them the safer pick in a game that will be decided by the backup quarterbacks yet again.

NFL odds pick: Miami Dolphins (-2).
