NFL Week 4 Expert Picks

September 30, 2009

Last week I went 13 of 16 for my NFL Expert Picks, including more upsets. This week we have some huge matchups like the Jets visiting the Saints in a battle of undefeated teams, or Tom Brady and the Patriots trying to answer a lot of the questions about if they are still the same team from 2 years ago.

But of course NFL betting fans, there is no story like Brett Favre facing his old team the Green Bay Packers.

Here are my NFL Week 4 picks.

Baltimore (3-0, Road: 1-0) 1:00 pm EDT

New England (2-1, Home: 2-0) CBS

I’m pretty sure the Baltimore Ravens defensive unit will follow Rex Ryan’s game plan in blitzing Tom Brady like the Jets did.

I don’t think Brady and the Pats are quite there yet. But if Brady wants to show that he’s back, he has a nice chance to do it against one of the best teams in the league.

Baltimore Ravens +2 -110

New England Patriots -2 -110

O /U 44 -110

My pick: Upset by the Ravens. Under.

Tennessee (0-3, Road: 0-2) 1:00 pm EDT

Jacksonville (1-2, Home: 0-1) CBS

On the road the Titans will get their first win of the season. Tennessee had run for more than a 100 yards in the last two matchups against the Jaguars. Expect Chris Johnson to have a fantastic game.

Tennessee Titans -3 -110

Jacksonville Jaguars +3 -110

O /U 41 -110

My pick: the Titans will cover the spread. Over.

Detroit (1-2, Road: 0-1) 1:00 pm EDT

Chicago (2-1, Home: 1-0) FOX

Jay Cutler threw 21 of 27 for 247 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception and he seems to be getting into a good rhythm. The Lions finally won after 19 games beating the Redskins in week 3, but don’t expect them to get on a hot streak.

Detroit Lions +10 -110

Chicago Bears -10 -110

O /U 39 -110

My pick: Chicago will cover the spread. Over.

NY Jets (3-0, Road: 1-0) 4:05 pm EDT

New Orleans (3-0, Home: 1-0) CBS

We have the game of the week right here, haven’t I said that already? Well, the thing is that there are some huge games this week in the NFL and of course one of them is the undefeated battle between the Jets and the Saints.

We are about to see a big time offense vs. a big time defense. Most of the times defensive units win, that’s why I’m picking the Jets to stay undefeated and upsetting the New Orleans Saints.

NY Jets +7 -110

New Orleans Saints -10 -110

O /U 45 -110

My pick: the Jets. Under.

Buffalo (1-2, Road: 0-1) 4:05 pm EDT

Miami (0-3, Home: 0-1) CBS

The Dolphins are 0-3 and have lost Chad Pennington for the rest of the season.

Buffalo Bills -2 -110

New York Jets +2 -110

O /U 37 -110

My pick: the Bills will win at least by a field goal.

Dallas (2-1, Road: 1-0) 4:15 pm EDT

Denver (3-0, Home: 1-0) FOX

The Denver Broncos are not an amazing team but they have managed the way to stay undefeated after three weeks. The Cowboys, however leave me with more doubts after they struggled for most of the game against the Panthers this past Monday Night.

Dallas Cowboys -3 -110

Denver Broncos +3 -110

O /U 43 -110

My pick: bet the home underdog. Bet on the Broncos. Over.

San Diego (2-1, Road: 1-0) 8:20 pm EDT

Pittsburgh (1-2, Home: 1-0) NBC

Do you really think the Steelers will drop to 1-3? Even without Troy Polamalu they are very good. Plus San Diego had struggled in the red zone without Ladainian Tomlinson.

San Diego Chargers +6 -110

Pittsburgh Steelers -6 -110

O /U 43 -110

My pick: the Steelers won’t cover the spread. Under.

Green Bay (2-1, Road: 1-0) 8:30 pm EDT

Minnesota (3-0, Home: 1-0) ESPN

There is no bigger story in week 4 for you NFL betting fans than to see Brett Favre and the Vikings hosting his old team the Green Bay Packers in Minnesota. Favre is anxious for this game since he knew he’ll part of the Vikings organization.

Green Bay Packers +3 -110

Minnesota Vikings -3 -110

O /U 45 -110

My pick: Favre and the Vikings will cover. Over.
