Premier League Game Week 3 Betting – Man City and Aston Villa

September 1, 2010

Sunday Premier League action serves up an eye-catching affair between Sunderland and Manchester City, as well as a prying affair between Aston Villa and Everton. The Citizens will look to keep pace at the expense of the Black Cats while Aston Villa and Everton will aim to find pace when they collide.

BetOnline has a whole spate of odds on the Premier League this weekend, including these two fixtures. So without further ado, here is a look at the markets currently trading.

Soccer Betting Verdict: Sunderland are off to a slow start this season with only a point in two cycles. Opening day, the held Birmingham to a 2:2 draw and the following week they lost to WBA. Given how poorly they have performed against middle-of-the-table opposition what chance do they stand against the pace-setting Citizens. In a word, slim to none. If Sunderland take the win or the draw in this match, either of these results would be a marvellous accomplishment. According to the market, a win at +325 or the draw at +260 would be a long shot bet. Man City are hot favourites at -125 to win outright and rightly so. More likely than not, they will thwart the Black Cats at Stadium of Light on Sunday.

Soccer Betting Line:

Aston Villa  pk  -135   +140   2½  O +115   U -135    1  O -135   U +115   Draw   +220
Everton  pk  +115   +195  2½  O +115   U -135     1  O -110   U -110  Draw   +220

Match Time: 11:00 AM Eastern Time (17:00 Local Time) Sunday August 29, 2010

Soccer Betting Verdict: Opening night now seems to have been a one-off for Aston Villa as since their impressive 3-0 win over West Ham United they have come up empty-handed in all competitions. They were dealt a huge loss at Newcastle United last weekend and they were eliminated from Europa League action this week. Things are not looking good for Aston Villa and sadly, a turnaround doesn’t seem to be on the horizon anytime soon.

Everton are off to a slow start as well with only one point in two cycles. They were defeated at Blackburn on opening day and played to a 1-1 draw at home to Wolverhampton last weekend.
Both sides are desperate and in my mind will be anxious to avoid losing any more ground at this early stage of the season. A draw appears to be the most likely result.

Soccer Free Picks: Draw +220
