Players still receive five cards like they would at any other video poker machine, but instead of getting the option to change out cards they’re given the option to switch up their bets. Here’s how it works.

At the beginning of every Let It Ride round, players will make a bet that is further divided into three equal wagers. Three cards are then dealt face up to the screen with two additional cards dealt face down. If they don’t like what they see, then a player may retract one of their bets.

Next a fourth card is turned over and players must once again decide if they want to retract a bet or “Let It Ride.” The fifth and final card is then revealed and any resulting wins are paid automatically. The minimum qualifying hand in Let It Ride video poker is a pair of 10s or better.

Whereas traditional video poker strategy focuses on choosing the right cards, Let It Ride’s strategy is limited to how you place your bets. Similar to live poker, the key to coming out ahead in Let It Ride video poker is minimizing your losses.

To compete against the dealer’s hands, players will place a wager in the Ante area. To be paid using a set paytable, players will place a wager in the Pair Plus area. Most online casinos have a mandatory ante bet, but some allow players to choose either or both of the Ante and Pair Plus bets.

Pair Plus players will automatically be paid based on the size of their hand. So long as you receive a pair or better your Pair Plus wager will pay, regardless of what the dealer’s hand is.

Though combining two games might sound complicated, playing Blackjack Plus 3 is actually rather easy. Before you play, you must place two separate bets – one for your blackjack hand and one for your 3-card poker hand. The dealer will distribute cards in the traditional blackjack pattern of two up to each player and one up, one down to themselves. With Pau Gasol, Luke Walton, Ron Artest and Kobe Bryant all questionable, probable or doubtful for the game, this Lakers versus Spurs game just doesn’t have the same ring to it that it has in the past.

Analysis:  There are some serious trends that point to Detroit getting squashed in this game.  Detroit is 1 and 7 ATS in their last 8 road games.  Detroit is 1 and 12 ATS in their last 13 games overall.  Detroit is 0 and 8 ATS in their last 8 games versus a team with a losing record.

The trends favoring the Wizards are okay but not overpowering.  For instance, even though the Wizards are 5-1-2 ATS in their last 8 games versus a team with a losing straight-up record, they are also 1 and 7 ATS in their last 8 home games versus a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.

When it comes to the total, the one that stands out is the fact that the over is 5 and 1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams. 

The key stat to me is the fact that Detroit hasn’t hit the 100 point mark in 13 straight games.  They did, however, beat Washington the last time the two teams met 98 to 94. 

5 ½ points may not seem like a lot, but the Pistons are going to end their losing streak eventually and the Wizards are a mess.  Oh, I’m still taking the points.  All I’m saying is that a Detroit victory straight-up wouldn’t surprise me.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Memphis Grizzlies

NBA Odds:  Memphis -5, Total 200

Analysis:  The Clippers have been on a tear against the spread lately going 6 and 0 ATS in their last 6 games. 

Memphis counters that with a 6-0-1 ATS record in their last 7 games as a favorite of 5 to 10 ½ points.  The Grizzlies are also 8-2-1 against the spread in their last 11 games overall.

These are two very evenly matched teams.  The last time these two teams met the Clippers beat Memphis 98 to 88.  That game, like this one, was in Memphis.  Could the Clippers do it again?

Of course they could.  More importantly, though, is the fact that the Clippers backcourt of Eric Gordon and Baron Davis is quickly becoming one that the rest of the NBA has to take seriously.  With Chris Kaman’s ability to dominate centers at times, it’s no wonder that the Clippers are on the verge of getting to .500.

The trends don’t favor either team in this one and L.A. has been on a roll.  I’ll take the Clippers and the points.

Winning Pick: L.A. Clippers +5

Fabricio Werdum was perhaps one surprising knockout at the hands of Junior Dos Santos away from a UFC title shot, and now the heavyweight will take on a former UFC also-ran in Mike Kyle. Not surprisingly, BetOnline has Werdum as a heavy favorite, with -550 to +375 odds going in. Kyle has some good size and a little athletic ability but he is likely to be overmatched in this one.

Werdum is a good bet to win but considering Kyle’s natural ability and the potential for Werdum to be gun-shy following his brutal knockout loss to Dos Santos, Kyle could be worth taking a flier on in this one.

In other action, one of Strikeforce’s top prospects, Scott Lighty, will take on Mike Cook. Lighty is a -350 to +250 fight in a matchup that seems tailor-made to showcase Lighty’s abilities and build him up as a future contender. Lighty has a good frame for MMA and he will use it to tower over Cook and land strikes for a TKO win in this one.

Justin Wilcox and David “Tarzan” Douglas will also meet in what could be a fairly close match. Douglas is favored in the Sportsbook at -215 to +170. Expect Douglas to live up to his nickname in this one and to use his all-out style to gain control and stake his way to a win.

Zak Bucia is a +220 to -300 underdog to James Terry as well at Strikeforce, a rematch of their fight on the “Shamrock vs. Diaz” card. Terry trains with middleweight champ Cung Le and his exciting style should be enough to score a second straight win over Bucia in this one.

Finally on the Strikeforce undercard, the underdog Isiah Hill, who is listed at +275 will take on Alex Trevino who is a heavy favorite at -375. Hill hasn’t won a fight in over two years while Trevino is a crafty lightweight who could move up the ranks in a hurry. Expect this to be an easy win for Trevino en route to bigger and better things.
