Taking Down the Champs – San Jose at Anaheim

San Jose Sucks! Anaheim To Roll In Game 3

The Ducks overwhelmed the Sharks in the first two games of this series to shock San Jose and their fans. Now in a two-game hole, the Sharks have to show something that they haven’t shown ever in the NHL Playoffs – resolve.

You can add all sorts of players to this roster is you choose, but the one guy who has to pick up his damn feet is Joe Thornton. Thornton drifted around in Game 2 like he was on a Sunday skate with his family. The guy doing all the dirty work for San Jose? Jeremy Roenick at 39 years of age. Seriously! The one guy who is hustling more than any other Shark is nearly forty freaking years old.

Will the real Joe Thornton please stand up? Why can’t this guy stand in front of the freaking net? And beyond that, why hasn’t San Jose smartened up and traded the big man for prospects and players willing to bang down low and obscure the goalies vision?

#1 San Jose Sharks vs. #8 Anaheim Ducks

Tuesday, April 21st — Honda Center, Anaheim — 10:30pm EST

NHL Series Record: Anaheim 2-0

Anaheim is a perfect playoff team. Size, speed, skating, goal tending, chemistry and unity – they have it all. And that’s why they’re up 2-0 heading back home to the Pond. They were awful to open the season, but this is a second-half team and a playoff contender. They’re now 12-3 SU in their last 15 games and 4-2 SU in their last 6 at home. And the best part? They won’t sit on their laurels with a 2-0 lead in the series. The Ducks are out for the blood and the Sharks’ wounds are bleeding in the NHL waters…

Furious NHL Free Pick: Anaheim +115 (OVER)
